Nachdem DER SPIEGEL unlängst mit “Mein Spiegel” im Kindermarkt zu punkten wusste, nimmt auch Gruner & Jahr die Jüngsten auf´s Korn. Nach dem Erfolg des Twen-Magazins “Neon” will der Verlag mit dem Kindertitel “Yuno” junge Leser ab zehn Jahren erreichen. Das Konzept beschreiben die Macher wie folgt: “Innovativ und völlig neu: Yuno ist erklärte Aktualität, geschrieben in einer Sprache, die die Zielgruppe versteht. Dabei bietet das Magazin echten, qualitativ hochwertigen Journalismus, fundiert recherchiert und leicht verständlich aufbereitet in einem neuartigen Heftlayout.” Dass lässt Eltern hoffen und die klassischen Jugendzeitschriften, deren Leserschaft sich stetig verjüngt, wohl ein wenig schlecht schlafen.
Mit diesem Heftkonzept dürfte sich die “Yumo” neben “Mein Spiegel” vorrangig gegen die Nummer 1 im Kindersegment wenden: Die “Geolino”. Mit mehr als 230.000 verkauften Exemplaren hat sich die “Geolino” den Spitzenplatz unter den Kindermagazinen erkämpft und sogar das “Micky Maus Magazin” auf Platz 2 verwiesen. Pikanterweise kommt auch die “Geolino” aus dem Verlagshaus Gruner & Jahr. Es bleibt zu beobachten, ob beide Titel sich kanibalisieren werden.
Die “Yuno” erscheint zunächst einmalig zum Preis von 3,00 Euro am 15. Juni 2010. Das Magazin erscheint in einer Druckauflage von 175.000 Exemplaren und wird einen Umfang von etwa 100 Seiten haben.
