Bauer launcht BRAVO Twist

Der Versuch scheint gelungen zu sein. Aufgrund des “großartigen Erfolgs” der Erstausgabe im September, wird der Bauer-Verlag den neuen Titel BRAVO Twist in Serie gehen lassen. Das Heft adressiert Mädchen im Alter zwischen 12 und 17 Jahren, die nun vierteljährlich beglückt werden. Die Twist scheint eine Adaption des gleichnamigen Magazins, das Bauer bereits in den USA herausgibt. Twist bietet einen zunächst wenig überraschenden Themenmix aus Stars,  Kino, Mode und Beauty. Den Schwerpunkt bilden jedoch 16 großformatige Hochglanzposter. Die Druckauflage liegt bei 180.000 Exemplaren. Die Verkaufserwartung beziffert Bauer mit 100.000 Heften. Die 1/1 Seite 4c soll laut Liste 6.500 € kosten.

Ob Bauer mit der Twist ein großer Wurf gelingen wird, bleibt fraglich. Es gibt jedoch einige gute Gründe zur Hoffnung. Zum einen deuten die IVW-Zahlen der vergangenen zwei Quartale auf eine leichte Gesundung der dauererkrankten Jugendmagazine hin. Hier muss sich jedoch erst beweisen, ob sich dieser Trend bewahrheiten wird, oder ob es sich eher um kosmetische Kunstgriffe der Verlage bei der Meldung der Zahlen handelt, um die Anzeigenpreise nicht nachhaltig in Gefahr zu bringen. Zum Zweiten wurden vor nicht allzu langer Zeit gleich drei Titel für Jugendliche und junge Erwachsene eingestellt: die YAM!, die Sugar und die Starflash. Dies lässt Luft für Neues.

Auch auf die Frage, wie ein Print-Produkt dem deutlich aktuelleren Internet Paroli bieten kann, hält die BRAVO Twist eine verblüffend einfache Antwort bereit: mit Postern und Autogrammkarten. Gleich 16 großformatige Starplakate liegen dem Heft bei, davon zwei sogenannte “Glossy-Poster” mit Hochglanzeffekt. Ob dies wirklich kaufentscheidend sein wird, werden die Kids uns beantworten. Jedoch besinnt sich endlich ein Printmedium wieder auf seine Stärken und versucht nicht, den ohnehin aussichtslosen Kampf um tagesaktuelle News gegen das Internet zu gewinnen.
