Aufgrund der Wirtschaftskrise verfügen Deutschlands Kinder 2009 über weniger Geld als noch im Vorjahr. Laut der Kids-Verbraucher-Analyse 2009 des Egmond Ehapa Verlages haben die rund 5,7 Millionen Kinder im Alter zwischen 6 und 13 Jahren im Durchschnitt 1.058 Euro im Geldbeutel und auf dem Sparkonto – rund 59 Euro weniger, als noch im Vorjahr. Auch für Bekleidung und Spielzeug wird weniger ausgegeben.
Die 6- bis 13-Jährigen verfügen in diesem Jahr noch immer über ein beachtliches Vermögen: insgesamt rund sechs Milliarden Euro. Davon schlummern ca. 3,6 Milliarden Euro auf Sparkonten, welches durchschnittlich 626 Euro pro Kind entspricht. Nahezu 2,5 Milliarden Euro kommen zudem durch Taschengeld und Geldgeschenke zusammen. Bedingt durch angespannte Haushaltskassen schrauben die Eltern in diesem Jahr die Ausgaben für Bekleidung (minus 10 Prozent) und Spielzeug (minus 7 Prozent) etwas zurück. Auch am Taschengeld wird gespart. Im Durchschnitt erhält jedes Kind 17 Euro weniger als noch im Vorjahr.
