Sie haben es getan. “Jugendsprache unplugged” ist im Langescheidt-Verlag erschienen. “Die garantiert aktuelle Verständnishilfe für junge und alte Nicht-Insider … zeigt die ganze unverblümte Wahrheit über die Jugendsprache”, so die vollmundige Pressemitteilung. Ein ambitioniertes Projekt. Dass Langenscheidt konsequent und außerordentlich erfolgreich an seinem verstaubten Image arbeitet, zeigen Verkaufserfolge wie “Deutsch-Frau/Frau-Deutsch” mit Mario Barth oder “Chef-Deutsch/Deutsch-Chef” mit Bernd Stromberg alias Christoph Maria Herbst. Beide äußerst erfrischend und mit einer gehörigen Portion Selbstironie gespickt. Doch jetzt wagen sich die Orthographie-Puristen an ein heikles Thema: Die Jugendsprache.
Was ist eigentlich “Jugendsprache”? Oder anders gefragt: Warum gibt es sie überhaupt? Warum bedienen sich die Jugendlichen nicht der normalen, allseits beliebten Sprachform, die sie im jedem halbwegs geordneten Unterricht lernen? Wär´ doch viel einfacher. Nun, weil es eben Jugendliche sind. Sie rebellieren, wollen anders sein. Anders als die Gesellschaft, anders als ihre Eltern aber auch anders als andere Kids, die sie, mit Verlaub, scheiße finden.
So entwickelt jede Subkultur ihre Sprache. Skater sprechen anders als Rapper, anders als Gamer, anders als Mucker, anders als Ökos, anders als Emos usw. Jede Gruppe entwickelt ihre Sprache, sozusagen als Eintrittskarte. “Ich spreche wie ihr. Ich gehöre dazu.” Oder meist anders herum: “Du verstehst uns nicht? Du gehörst nicht zu uns.” An diesem Schema hat sich seit Jahrzehnten nichts geändert. Damals waren es halt Punks, Popper, Mods, Skins, Teds oder Rocker.
Die Sprache der einzelnen Gruppen ist wichtig. Sie entscheidet, wer dabei ist. Sie ist die Parole, der geheime Code. Was passiert nun, wenn dieser Geheimcode auf einmal auch von Externen gekannt und verwendet wird, wohlmöglich noch von der Feindgruppe Nummer 1, den Eltern? Er wird geändert. Blitzschnell. Wie bei der Stasi. Oder, der Vollständigkeit halber, beim MAD.
Der Versuch, die lebendige, flüchtige Jugendsprache in ein Lexikon zu pressen, konnte also nur scheitern. Dies bekunden auch die Reaktionen von Jugendlichen nach Lektüre der gelben Verständnishilfe. User Peter bringt es mit seinem Kommentar gut auf den Punkt. “Jugendslang ist das schon mal überhaupt nicht, sondern eher mal wieder ausgedacht, um ein paar Euro mehr pro Zeile in die Kasse zu bekommen.” Oder ein Besucher namens Rollinger: “Ach Gottchen. Klingt ja wie Thomas Gottschalks fünfundzwanzigster Versuch, wieder jugendlich zu sein.” Langenscheidt! Sechs! Setzen!
Dem Verlag sei zugute gehalten, dass dieses Nachschlagewerk in der selben Rubrik wie Barth und Stromberg erschienen ist, nämlich in “L for fun – unser neuer Bereich für Spaßprodukte”. Es kann also nicht wirklich ernst gemeint sein. Hoffentlich…

Auch DUDEN hat sich 2000 mit dem Werk “Wörterbuch der Szenesprache” diesem Thema gewidmet. Die “Nerds” und “Hacker” “surften” damals durch den “Cyberspace” um mit “B-boys” und “Fly Girls” durch die “Aufrisszonen” zu “spotten”. Währenddessen haben die “Raver” natürlich in den “Lounges” “phat” “gechillt”.
Ebenso nicht unbedingt nützlich, aber mit den netten Erklärungen zu den ca. 1000 Begriffen auf mehr als 200 Seiten, durchaus unterhaltsam.
